Mexico Caribbean Service SANMEX

Multi-purpose service from Antwerp and Bilbao to Rio Haina, Vera Cruz, Altamira, San Juan and Houston. H Stinnes Linien is the sole remaining multi-purpose liner operator in this trade lane. The SANMEX service is specialised to transport steel and timber products, project cargo, machinery and containers as well as general break bulk cargo.

Hugo Stinnes Schiffahrt GmBH traces its roots back to 1820, when Matthias Stinnes established his first Rhine River Barge Company; a fleet of 66 vessels all dedicated to transport his own coal. Hugo Stinnes, one of Germany's most influential and controversial entrepreneurs, founded the Transatlantic Shipping Company in 1907.

In 1992 Hugo Stinnes established a joint venture and Deutsche Seereederei (DSR) - DSR/Stinnes West Indies Service from Hamburg to Mexico and West Coast South America.

Today Hugo Stinnes Schiffahrt GmBH operating from its head office in Rostock is an independent shipping line focused on niche markets, operating a fortnightly multipurpose liner service from North Europe to Mexico and the US Gulf/ Caribbean and a weekly fully containerised service to/from South Africa.
